Myth no 2: Manually opened garage doors are better than automatic garage doors

It really depends on a point of view. An automatic garage door has more virtues over manually opened garage doors.

Let's start with the comfort. Imagine a situation when you arrive home and have to get out of the car to open the garage. Normally, it's not that big of a deal, but during a downpour or at -20°C, everyone would rather stay nice and warm and dry. There's nothing like simply pressing a button on the remote control for the garage door and having it open by itself in front of you. Not only do you not get wet or freeze, but it also doesn't cost you any effort. The fact that electrically operated doors don't require physical contact also raises the question of safety. You don't manipulate them, the motor does everything, reducing the risk of injury to a minimum. Also, there is no danger of the door closing on you, your children, car, or pets, as they are equipped with safety sensors that stop the motor in case of emergency. The door motor can also be set to automatically close the door after a certain period of time. This is great especially for forgetful individuals. Nowadays, garage door security is really at a very high level. For example, when the garage door is closed, it is also locked, so you don't have to deal with any additional locks. It is also possible to connect the door to a home alarm system. Modern door opening systems can even be monitored remotely using a smartphone app, allowing you to check the position of your door from anywhere in the world. Another great advantage is that you can also connect automatic garage doors to lighting - every time the garage is opened, the lights inside or around the driveway will turn on automatically. As mentioned at the beginning, garage doors with motors really exceed the ordinary in many ways. They are a bit more expensive, but they also have great added value, which is definitely worth investing in. If you want to learn more about garage doors, check out other debunked myths.
